COMING SOON! THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION (BOOK 1 OF A 3 BOOK SERIES)

                                                                        (IMPERFECTION)

A DIVINE DOWNLOAD

This writing project started with a “divine download” of the title of this book series into my heart several years ago.

Although I instantly and intuitively knew it was the title for at least one book I was meant to write, I’ve wrestled since then with trying to understand its hidden meaning, prayed over how it should be written and asked God to help me put the puzzle pieces together.

For the past several years I have frequently sensed that “nudge from above” along with an urgency to get it written.

It wasn’t until the fall of 2018 that it all started making sense to me and at the end of September, I finally sat down to begin the writing process.

I believe that divine timing is always perfect.

And I also believe there are many people in this world who desperately need to hear this message now.

And so, at last-here I sit, a bit scared but acting in obedience to the calling I feel in my heart. I will endeavor to be transparent and to finally share my story with the world.

The one thing that makes it possible for me to do this is that I firmly believe that If even ONE of my difficult life experiences can help just ONE person heal or find answers they haven’t found elsewhere, everything I have been through as a full-time family caregiver will have been well worth it. EVERYTHING.

WHY I AM WRITING THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION?

My purpose for starting this blog and writing the related book series is to share:

a) valuable life lessons learned and related parts of my personal story (here on the blog) and

b) a Road map to Healing (in the books) with other caregivers who are experiencing stress, overwhelm, anxiety and isolation like I once did.

It is my sincere hope that my story may prevent others from making the same mistakes I did, and perhaps succeeding where I failed.

You may be one of those people who is as isolated as I once was and who feels desperate for answers—not from a paid professional trained in psychological theory, but from someone who has been there, bled profusely (in a figurative sense) and lived to tell about it.

The Beauty of Imperfection book contains a road map for restoration that focuses on repairing the heartbreaks that are specific to care giving and restoring wholeness again.

In this blog, I will share snapshots of my personal backstory as a caregiver and the difficult lessons I learned from them, most of which may be only summarized in the books due to the sheer number of them. This blog will include FULL stories.

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM READING THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION?

While The Beauty of Imperfection focuses primarily on helping current or former full-time family caregivers (both male and female) cope with the overwhelm and challenges that result from serving others in a 24/7 care giving capacity, portions of its message are equally applicable to anyone working full time in the care giving “healing” professions.

These include (but are not limited to), traditional or alternative medical professionals, massage therapists, energy healers, Reflexologists, counselors and others in the healing professions. My goal is to educate professionals and give them a peek into the struggles that the full-time family caregivers they work with may not feel comfortable sharing with them. It is vital that we work together on behalf of our injured or ill loved ones to provide complete continuity of care.

All of these dedicated souls spend their days pouring into the lives of others who are  in need of physical, mental or emotional support. As time passes, often burnout begins to set in and the caregiver’s needs take a back seat to those they are helping.

It is then that the sudden realization sets in that we can no longer pour from an empty cup—we must find a source of replenishment for our weary souls.

I know because it happened to me.

I hope and pray that you’ll gain great benefit from reading this blog and the upcoming books and that you’ll share them with others who may need support as they care for loved ones or clients, whoever and wherever they may be in the world.

I’ll be adding new content on a regular basis and I look forward to interacting with you personally via comments posted both here on this blog, via email and on Facebook.
